Sutton on Forrest, Yorkshire
Conservation of two decorative wall monuments, within the collection of Harland Memorials. NBSC was commissioned to carry out conservation works to the collection of two wall monuments relating to the Harland Family located within All Hallows Church in Sutton on the Forrest, North Yorkshire. Conservation works to the Harland Monuments were carried out both on site and in our workshops in Edinburgh.
The monument therefore underwent careful deconstruction with the aid of a modular lifting frame, palette trucks and trolleys, and then transported back to our workshops using professional vehicles. The monument was subsequently reconstructed in its new location following conservation works using the same methods.
The Harlands required to be taken down to facilitate urgent replacement of the metal fixings securing each subject to the wall. On removal, these subjects were transported to workshop facilities for necessary cleaning, consolidation and repair treatments.
