About Nicolas Boyes Stone Conservation Ltd.
Nic set up the company Nicolas Boyes Stone Conservation Ltd (NBSC) in 2000 following many years working throughout the UK as a Stone Conservator in private practice and latterly for Historic Scotland. During this time Nic gained the status of an Accredited Conservator-Restorer (ACR) demonstrating that he is a fully qualified and capable professional. The NBSC team is made up of specialist conservators, stonemasons, sculptors and technicians. Our offices and workshop are based in the historic village of Morningside in Edinburgh, which is our hub, but we undertake work throughout the UK and further afield.

NBSC provides specialist conservation advice including conducting detailed surveys of the subject and making specific technical recommendations in the form of our Conservation Assessment Report. We offer practical conservation services and specialist conservation advice to project teams throughout the world.'
NBSC has a dynamic team with a strong conservation ethic and specialist skills including stone conservation, stone masonry, lime mortars, gilding, replication, conservation of metalwork and of 21st Century materials, surveying and assessment. The team are continually renewing and updating their skills and expertise by attending training courses and conferences on specialist subjects.
As a company Nicolas Boyes Stone Conservation Ltd. stays professionally involved in our industry with membership of several groups including the Institute for Conservation (ICON), Building Limes Forum (BLF) and Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).
We have a broad customer base including architects, surveyors, local government, trusts and interest groups, government and charitable heritage sector agencies, property owners and manufacturers of conservation equipment.
NBSC prides itself on conducting important conservation work from initial site visit to final report, with sensitivity and imagination, on time, within budget and with good conservation rigour.
